BEE Project’s Story Starts with Energy Bees

The Best Earth Ever (BEE) Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Sadie Bronk and Ashley Myers Black. BEE Project is driven by the visionary mission of cultivating the next generation’s green workforce. Sadie and Ashley, who are also the co-founders of Energy Bees - an energy efficiency consulting firm and the founding sponsor of BEE Project - discovered an imperative need for this endeavor through their work with Energy Bees.

Sadie and Ashley are deeply committed to establishing partnerships and bringing together the necessary resources to fulfill BEE Project's mission. Their dedication extends to collaborative efforts with school districts, strategically managing utility resources for optimal efficiency. Through this endeavor, they have directly engaged with students, providing guidance to commercial establishments on energy conservation. The results of these efforts were not just positive; they were truly remarkable. The enthusiastic participation of students, coupled with client satisfaction, formed a backdrop where mentored interns have successfully gained admission to prestigious institutions such as Stanford, Brown, and Columbia.

Despite the uplifting nature of this experience, a critical realization emerged—a common thread among these accomplished young individuals: privilege. Armed with high grades, robust support systems, and the ability to flourish, these students highlighted a glaring divide between those with privilege and those without, particularly within the burgeoning green industry.

This realization served as the driving force behind the inception of BEE Project in June 2019. Fueled by a vision to bridge this gap, the founders of Energy Bees mobilized essential resources and sought the guidance of independent board members. They recognized that empowering the youth who need it most requires enhanced support, collaborative partnerships, and resources that go beyond the typical scope of the for-profit sector. Thus, BEE Project was born, embodying a commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable future in the green industry.
